Coffee and conferences are a natural pair. When Instagram for Business brought its event to Melbourne, our baristas ran back-to-back coffee sessions through the day, so every break had a fresh flat white waiting and nobody had to leave the venue to find one.

Branded cups, real coffee

The cups carried the Instagram gradient, which turned every coffee into a small piece of the event. Behind the branding it was the same set-up we bring to every conference: a mobile coffee cart with ST. ALi beans, a barista who keeps a queue moving, and cups that people photograph.

Why conferences book a coffee cart

A coffee break is where a conference audience actually talks. A cart in the foyer keeps people in the room, gives sponsors a place to put their name, and lifts the energy of the afternoon sessions. We handle power, water and clean-up, so the organiser has one less thing to run.

What a conference coffee cart includes

  • Professional baristas and commercial espresso machines on a cart that fits through standard doors and lifts
  • ST. ALi coffee, milk and dairy-free alternatives, biodegradable cups, plus tea, hot chocolate and chai
  • Hundreds of cups an hour when the crowd needs it; one small flat area and standard power is all it takes
  • Full set-up and clean-up, with branded cups or cart on request

Planning coffee for a conference

Count on a rush at each break, so tell us the programme: two or three sharp peaks need a second machine and a second barista. Branded cups take a couple of weeks to print. For a sponsor, the cart is a stand people queue at, so put the signage where the queue forms.

Questions people ask

How many people can one cart serve? Hundreds of cups an hour at full tilt; for 300 or more guests we bring a second cart so the break stays short.

Do you need much space or power? A small flat area and a standard power point. Outdoors we add a pop-up umbrella.

How far ahead should we book? Two to six months is ideal, more in spring and summer; last-minute dates are worth asking about.
